A dip into the aesthetic of ‘street wear’.
‘Street Swag’ has nestled itself into four cosy walls on 33 De Korte Street, Braamfontein. For a newcomer to the game, DipStreet has sparked the curiosity of a distinctive crowd. The man behind the store, Siyatusa Mamba, began the store when he saw an opportunity to make both local and international “specialized” brands, such as MISHKA, IMKING, Booger Kids, Breezy Excursion and Adidas, more accessible to consumers. Mamba says “Dipstreet is a store for the person who sees clothes as more than just thread and needs a place where they can have access to exclusive and relevant items that will set them aside from the crowd.”
Prices range from R200 for smaller items such as caps and T-shirts and you can expect to pay well into the early thousands for a limited sneaker. Mamba does plan to introduce more ladies wear in June, so ladies are in for a treat.
The store prides itself in hunting down authentic ‘street wear’ and delivering those fashion finds to our doorsteps. A lounge area and graffiti-adorned wall playfully exhibit the visual and material culture of the brand. The style of merchandise can be described as a fusion of witty print, vivid colour schemes and cutting-edge designs. DipStreet is spirited and expressive; perfect for days when you simply want to wear your mood.
